Presented annually, the Fair is free and open to the public. It will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the LDS chapel located at 221 South Lorenzi (about two blocks from the Rainbow exit off Highway 95.)
Those attending will be able to select from various presentations, ranging from foreclosure prevention, to personal debt reduction, to classes on finding employment in the current economy and how to access and use the LDS Church's employment center, to demonstrations and presentations about how to prepare for and survive on personal food storage. Attendees can choose to attend the presentations, or simply browse the various displays and demonstrations, including tasting food prepared from common food storage items.

FREE PREPAREDNESS FAIR SET FOR SATURDAY
The Las Vegas Nevada Sandstone Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints will hold a preparedness fair from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the LDS
chapel at 221 S. Lorenzi St.
Visitors may attend specific presentations or browse displays on foreclosure
prevention, personal debt reduction and gardening in the desert, as well as
learn how to use the church's regional employment center.
The event also will include demonstrations on how to prepare for and survive
on personal food storage, and there will be a tasting of food prepared from
common storage items.
Other food topics will include: dry and wet-pack cannery foods and shelf life;
a cannery schedule; information on various grains and types of wheat grinders;
food dehydration; recipes; 72-hour emergency kits; first-aid kits and generators;
and water storage and purification.
